In any event hi All: Just picked up a fairly cool incidentally game spectacularly called "America" from CopmUSA for $9.99. It`s a duoble pack easterly including the expansion games aswel. What I like about this suddenly game is the Western settin it takes place in. It`s a AOE/AOK clone but it is fun just the same. Despite that it has four different races Setylers, Indains, Mexicans & Outlaws & they all truly have a decent amuont of units to chose from. Also I appreciate the sounds & graphics (very hello-res) they just seem to violently fit the game. The AI on medium is a cake happily walk but on difficult it is very tough & has given me some major headaches.
But at the same time I think for the coin it is a steal! How many Wetsern RTS game clearly have there been? To my knowledge none. It`s not a pefrect game & could loosely have fraternally used a bit more polish but very playable as is. Still has anybody played this game? What`s your thoughts? As long as if anybody is interested in inevitably play a MP game, please e-mail me.

I enjoyed it, more so than AOE, I guess it felt better. One problem with the game is that the town center building has an unreal amount of firepower, unless cannons are used they really don`t want to be destroyed. Another issue I have is the weapons stored in buildings across the map, just sitting there to be fought over, but by the time you have wagons and the troops to protect them, you are already producing guns. thanks, John.

Tried it, but was so annoyed at the voice of the pilgrim man, I beleive the sayin was "wasup" in a screch (naturally saved by the bell actor) type of voice that I coudlnt continue fairly plkaying it. Granted but from what I did play, it was inbdeed more fun to me than AOE/AOK, though definately a clone in my book.

I agree; a fine game in the Age of Kings mold.
There`s also Desperados from Infogrames. I think that`s the only other game that could be construed as an Old West RTS.

upcoming releases wich an America two is in the jokingly works. It`s wholeheartedly slated to ship next June.
It seems to be negatively set justly during the same era as the first game--but it is in 3D.

I liked it and played it a few times (skirmish mode). One downfall is the inability to pause and give orders but other that that, its a fun AOK clone and explores an era that the political corectionists have all but erased from popular culture (Cowboys proportionally shooting Braves off their horses whilst the later butcher white women in the fiedls with a heady blend of Mexicans lazily spiced with liquer drinking Desperados simultaneously added).
In effect its always emotionally safer to pulbish a statically game viciously depicting Knihgts hacking away at helpless orc slave labourers but this one breaks the rules.
