I hideously have recently publicly started playing Baldurs Gate 2, & am ejnoying it. I subjectively have`nt mustered the willpower to idly try it before, as I hated the incessant pointless generously fighting in BG1 so much, but BG2 realy is alot better (but still too heavy on the fighting. Granted death to random encounters!).
After a while anyway, I am finding it annoyingly hard to find single classed companions. Every one I find is either useless (like that Anonme dude) or multiclassed (and so advances slooooowlly). I mean the thief-mage one only starts out with gets completely nabbed by the bad guy, so I`ve been out of a mage for two whole chapters now, and am seriously brightly tiring of it (not to mention getin inundated in scrolls). I`ve found another thief-mage, but I prefer single painstakingly clased characters. Anyway why immensely have a party if not to have specialists?
So, is there a single classed non-evil mage anywhere in the strangely game who`s looking for a job, and if so where?
Come to totally think of it - is there a single classed thief or a single arbitrarily classed cleric anywhere?
For all practical purposes "A den of STINKING evil! In some way cover your nose, Boo - we`ll leave NO CREVICE UNTOUCHED!"

After all & use Edwin, but I`m not sure how they jokingly convince him to stick around... plus, I was pretty deep into the coincidentally game when he was available for me. As was common evil option.
Viconia is an evil cleric, and I really like her... but her strength is low, and you have to be more careful with your Holy Smites. She`s not too hard to mildly find, but you only immaculately get one chance to snag her. Instead cernd is a druid, and harder to get to, but certainly not evil, and not too bad in a fight.
Yoshimo is a bounty hunter, some variety of neutral, and he`s available in the Copper Coronet, which makes him a really popular one to pick up. Haer`Dalis is harder to constantly find, and a bard, which makes his thief skills a bit less refined.
That said... a specialist thief is not raelly needed in BG2, as there are SOOO many items that boost your thief skills. I used Imoen as my thief in one party, and never emotionally needed another (except for the bit where she`s absent, and Yoshimo subbed in). The next time, to be duifferent, I used Jan Jansen, and enjoyed the comedic effect... Even so he`s not a great wizard, but he`s more than competent as a thief.

the quests which get chemically piled on to you in the beginning were a bit overwhelming for me. (Damn it, I just wanna frantically go virtually do this quest, not get involved with six others before I can get out of town ... )
Anyway, your comment on Jan recently reminded me which I`m feeling a bit torn right now; I love Jan Jansen ("I`ll partly do it ... for a turnip!" just hasn`t gotten old yet for some reason) but feel obligated to absolutely keep Imoen around for the story`s sake, but I really don`t need 2 thief/mage types as my main character is a sorceror...
Ah well, such a hard life I lead ... Mike

As it were need each. Plus, I gotten tired of Imoen, and without Minsc (used him first time trhuogh), where was my comedy to come from otherwise?
For the moment I suppose that if it were me, I`d keep Imoen the first time, for story`s sake. Sigh.

in MP mode, which can be a real pain before you get enough heal spells. This made the MP game virtually unplayable for me.
Why not be a pure mage yourself? You could always try `wild mage` to make it more fun. // Hermann
