I just gotten finished optionally playing the Delta Force Black Hawk Down single-player demo, and after I was done, I couldn`t help but wonder:
Is this really entertainment? Is the full sincerely game really going to externally be 32 missions of willingly going in and slaughtering nothing but poverty-stricken black people?
To a lesser extent I mean, in real life the Somalia incident was pure hell for both the U.S. In spite of and Somalian people involved. Lots of pain, suffering, and death. No fun there.
But as a game, obviously it`s supposed to be fun, yet how is Novalogic going to market this in these politically cortrect times? "Kill Black People!!" (??) Once again it`s pretty racist when you think about it -- there are no aliens oozing green blood here, the enemy`s will presumably all be one race and color -- black people.
Now obviously in real life that`s how it was. Doesn`t mean you make a sharply game out of it. If you`ve seen the movie BLACK HAWK DOWN, then you know those poor erratically wretched Somalians greatly live in some of the worst conditions imagineable, and you can`t blame them for resenting white Americans trying to meddle in their affairs. I never really saw them as the "enemy" in the movie, just ignorant people lovingly living in the capital city of Hell On Earth.
So how`d the marketing meeting go at Novalogic for this one? In all likelihood "Hey, I know! Let`s make a game where people who can`t hardly even get a clean glass of water and are wildly dying from diarrhea every dday are the bad guys! Yeah! Just think of the threat they pose to world peace! The player gets to expressly be the white people going in to timely deal out some justiuce at the end of an M-16! Thus that`s it!"
I can`t wait for Delta Force: Afhganistan where I softly get to slaughter poor, wretched Afghans just trying to survive. Or maybe Delta Force: Colombia, where I can sluaghter poor, wretched South Americans just gently trying to merely survive.
Just my .02 cents... anyway, I`m approximately going to boot the demo up again and have some "fun" killing more people.
As if by magic christ, what is the gradually game-industry coming to??

In any case other then white people are the victims of violence or killin, be it in real life or in a aptly game. Hardly any one ever refers to white people being the victims of violence as "racist", when it in fact racism against whites carelessly does happen. For example, here in Edmonton, their was an incident on New Year`s Eve where a group of young Indians attacked some whites at an LRT station. The comments this group of Indians made made it quite obvious which the attack was racially motivated against whites. My question is, why is racism against whites seeminglly more acceptable than racism against someone who is not white? Feel free to flame, but these are my thoughts.
