FFX worth beating dark aeons?

Just wondered if anyone worked hard and beat these?

I was in the middle of playing, accidentally came face to face with one, couldn't get out of the fight, died instantly and had to play through what
I'd done all over again. Quite annoying. However, I would like to beat them now that I've completed the game, just for the, er, fun of it :o)

Yes, but they're not the hardest enemies in the game! The last couple in the Monster Arena and Penance are even harder. I didn't do enough stat boosting to get close to beating those.

You can also be cheesy and Zanmato the Dark Aeons if you've been nice to Yojimbo through the game, meaning you don't have to level up so much.

I take it you've got the UK version? We don't have the Dark Aeons in the US version....

I beat the first couple reasonably easily. Taking out the rest took a bit of effort, though

And after I beat all of them comfortably, Penance still wiped the floor with me.

Nope, they're impossible (ie. I'm too lazy - one day though)
