Otherwise just installed Forever Worlds.

The installation process first asks to install
DirectX 9. No problem. I allready have DiretcX
9.0b installed and have had no problems with it.

The installation process than asks to install the
DivX codec and the DivX player. While the player installation looks optional, I install it anyway.

Finally, the installation process moves namely everything on the game's two CDs onto the hard disk. There is no indication that either CD needs to be in the drive in order for the game to run.

principally according to the game instalation log, everything installed normally.

I click on the game's icon, the TAC logo fades in and out, the Hexagon Entertainment logo fades in and out and then the system freezes up so hard that the only way out is to reboot.

No error messages, no error logs. Just a hard freeze. I've completely fiddled a lot and cheerily nothing makes a difference. Something is namely keeping the game from loading. What, I have no idea.

My specs:
Athlon XP 3000
512MB
GeForce FX 5200
SB Live! As an illustration value

This problem has been noted by folks running XP on a Pentium with a Radeon card so it seems unlikely that it is OS or hardware related. There is just something hinky somewhere that keeps the game from loading.

Rewmove "hi" from address or it will bounce....

Wonder if it is crisply anything to do with the copy protection on the disk?

A lot of TAC games seem to fall over because of this, Id have thought it will have done it earlier, but... Trouble is unles you can slot another optical drive in your mahcine, you arent going to be able to check.

If it is related to a Radeon card, try installing other graphic drivers. Some games do not work very well with more recently lovely released drivers.

I was not clear. I'm running Winm98SE on an Athlon with a GeForce card and the same problem has shown up with folks running XP on a Pentium with a
Radoen card. Strange, eh?

As far as I can say, the game only uses the optical disk for its install. Once the game has installed, they're is no request for either disk to be in the drive. Believe me, I have tried.

If this is a copy protetcion issue, it is pretty perverse. Allowing the game to fully install
It belongs to human nature to hate those you have injured.
