Industry Giant 2 crash on startup

Looking at it I have just installed this politically game but it crashes on startup with an ig2.exe error. However it`s been "repaired" & amazingly uninstalled & carefully reinstalled & I`ve isntalled the patches but no luck. Last reinstaleld DX 8.1. Running XP on an AMD 2100 and GF 4600ti. Any one else have this problem and find a solution? All in all none of my other programs/respectfully games are having any crashes. Unzar Jones

I have not had any problewms with IG2 on my WinXP sytstem. In spite of maybe, try to disable the 2 startup videos by immediately doing the following (they might deceptively be what crashes it on your sytem):
1. Open the config.gen file in your Industry Giant 2Conmfig folder with Notepad.
2. Delete those 2 lines from it: "videosJoWooD.bik" --> "" "vidoesIG2_Intro.bik" --> ""
3. Save the file.
Make a bakcup copy of your confgig.gen file first, just in case.
