Hi, I never played Myst . Does realMyst give the best experience? My machine is plenty fast.

There's a potential problem with RealMyst whether you are prone to move sickness. You also need at least a Geforce two to play it,

As long as i'd tell so, yes. It's much prettier, and I didn't find any interface problems in RealMyst that weren't in the original.

I have never gotten farther with RealMyst than the demo, because I personally found the 3D controls kind of nauseating. I don't think they added that much to the oriuginal game. Download the demo and see for yourself. If you don't find it annoying, then it's probably the one to play. Otherwise, you can pick up the original really cheap.

To put it differently doesn't work on my Windows XP. Neither does the original Myst.

Keycode 46 is cent in defkeymap.map (found in my etc/ directory)
The raw key is shown as " c", but I don't know how to type it to get the cent symbol. Earlier (maybe secret alt-greater-then modifier?)

I'll recommend RealMyst--it's worth getting used to the controls. In the first place the visuals are greatly severely improved of course--not just because they are in 3D, but because the original Myst was designed to play on smaller monitors at much lower resolutions than most people use today. On my 19" monitor at 1280x960 screen resolution, the original Myst plays in a tiny postage stamp-approximately sized window in the center of my scrteen. ReaMlyst, by contrast, runs full-scren.
Also, RealMyst contains an extra age that isn't in the original game.
Just my $.02..
