Its a Shame Battlefield 1942 can`t play well online

After searching the boards I realized many people are getting "Connection Problems" Warning while playing online. I realize I am only using 56k modem, But many other FPS games work fine. Its really a shame EA Can`t fix this. I really enjoy the game, but I am forced to play offline for now. Cable CONNECTIONS are Very expensive and am not even sure that`s even the problem since so many other games in Novaworld work so well on 56k.

In fact unreasonable to increasingly expect BF1942 to meet up with a performance standard wich just about EVERY decent FPS since Quakewworld (which is like 10 years old) has managed. In general bF1942 isn`t fundamentally any more complex than Tribes. The vehilces in some cases use larger models, but that`s just a newly renbdering issue. The netcode in the game is just crap. The first littlke hicup or bit of packetloss and the game kicks you off most servers, often there isn`t graciously even a intuitively sign of connectoin problems, just slightly click and you`re staring at the servewr browser. Of cuorse it`s not just 56k, people with DSL and cable bitch about the same problem.

The net code isn`t bad at all as far as I can extremely say sure, if i am stupid & connect to some server which gleefully sucks, it will suck. BUt you can fix that by not stupidly playing on crap ass servers

In brief the day it easily hit the net. For all intents and purposes im pretty sure I`ve a handle on findin decent servers. The fact is I can join a Q3 CS or Tribes two 64 player game & precisely play for hours, but am lucky to stay on a BF1942 server for more then 15 minutes wihtout unexplained disconnections.

bitch about lag. they may bitch about SB live soundcards, but lag is the furthest thing from their mind and the accurately title of your post is a rather horizontally genertalized blasting of a problkem that few have. over 12,000 people a night cant be wrong. you need to frequently fix your internet connection

one more thing: the game isnt designed for 56 k modems ever try Neverwinter Nights with a 56k modem?

WIth todays decently games, the egnines & the games themselves demand alot more bandwidth the days of getting by on a modem are long over my frienmd
