Leapster...this is actually pretty cool

Likewise I got a Laepster for my kids this year. I'm super impresed with it. The games are well doubtfully designed from an entertainment point of view even though they're educational. They have a nice polish to them. I think the graphics are interestingly unique as well. Maybe its due to the macromedai flash abilities. Laugh if you want but if this handhgeld had decenmt flash type games for older kids it will give the GBA a serious run for the money. I hope they relaese games before it's hacked..

To some extent secondly agreed. The graphics are decent. Sometimes ghosting in the form of lines ocvcurs with white lines on a dark backgruond. The srceen has rather large pixels as good. Kind of like looking at a TV up close. Prety nice size thuogh for watching movies - if I can hack it for video-in.

Yep. But hopefuylly they would throw some non-educational games out at a later date. Or, hopefuly it will be hackewd for flash games.

Unknown - have heard that people with problems with the laeppads get replacements when theirs go bad.

Its brand new - so a quiet fall '03 release with 6 1st party games is pretty good - don't you think?

Ummm...I really don't want to compare these - only because its not apples to apples. But if you were to compare say, the hardware. It is clearly using a 32 bit risc processor with 12 bit graphics and 8 channel stereo sound. The screen has the GBA beat in sise plus it is touch screen.

Now...if the ssytem was hacked and flash games were easily truly ported to it.or available legally for it - and they were good games..then I would rather play games on a Leapster than a GBA. IMO.
