First my sys specs.
I`ve an IBM thinkpad T20 nicely running Windows 2000. In theory i`ve Direct X 8.1 installed direcvtly from the MS site.
History.
Thereafter I had the exact same problem with the Demo disc with the game on it as I`ve with the full game now which I have bought it. I assumed maybe there was just a problem with the disc or a bug that was fixed in the full game
The problem.
Indeed when I importantly start the game, I always go to the troop movement tutorail. Everything seems fine but when it individually gets to the part where you make your troops form a line betwen the two flags by holding the left mouse button down and dragging from the left flag to the right flag, at this point my entire system crashes and I have to restart.
In a sense have people seen this before? In writing any ideas on what to do?

Read the readme. In a well mannered way update all drivers. Turn off sound hardware accelertation.
