I have a ps1 game that will not play on my ps2..
I have heard some ps1 will not play on the ps2.
Why is this? The game is Castlevania Chronicles. I might sell the game later no point in keeping something that won't play. The disk IS clean.

MK Trilogy works just fine on mine, even with fast sprites and loading turned on. I have the PS2 version 7.

Sometimes I can get it to play alot of the time I get a disk read error.
After I posted the message I got the game to play, turned off the system, turned it on later and got the disk read error.

The official list of incompatible PS One games includes: Arcade Party Pack,
Arcade's Greatest Hits: Atari 2, Fighter Maker, Final Fantasy Anthology,
International Track and Field, Judge Dredd, Monkey Hero, Mortal Kombat
Trilogy, and Tomba.

The game works flawlessly on the PS2. Make sure you *don't* have Fast
Loading or Smooth Textures turned on as many games don't function properly or at all with them.

Hmm, I don't know. Perhaps the lens in the system needs cleaning?
Also, as someone else suggested, try loading the game without using any of the PS2's special enhancements for PS1 games (fast loading and smooth textures).

What problems have you experienced with Castlevania Chronicles on a PS2? I have that game, and have not noticed anything unusual when playing it on my
PS2.
