Rescue Me!!! Help with Schizm needed Please!!!

I have only just discovered Schizm - and have managed to get as far as the fish ship with Sam and the deserted city with Hanna
However - once I get Sam onto the fish ship I cannot back track - the movement arrow does not come up - all I can do is spin in a cirlce the same thing happens to Hanna when she climbs up to look at the statue with a ring thing on its head - Am I missing something???
I am playing with the CD Rom version on vista - have had no problems with the game to this point - have played the Myst series and Mysterious Journey without any hitches on the same computer
Is there a patch??? I did go looking for one but the link to a patch on the Adventure gaming site just went to a "can't locate this page" error message
I am loving this game but am completely snookered with this problem....would love some advice....

thanks for your response - have already tried the cheats thing as I thought i must be missing something - but it isn't that _ its just that for some reason I cannot go back from those two points in the game (fish ship for Sam and statue thing for Hanna) - the cheats tell me I have to use the disc I picked-up in the ship with he pedastal thing back on the balloon - but i literally cannot get back off the fish ship - all I can do is move back along the ship to the control chairs or spin around using the arrows near the entrance to the ship and - the travel Icon just never shows up to get off the ship no matter where I put the cursor on the screen and its the same for Hanna - its immenseley frustrating.
Even If I go back to a saved game and go through it again the same thing happens
so I am hoping there is a solution or a patch!!

Sounds like a bug I will look out if I can find any patch for it online.

Just try to look down by moving your mouse down.

Press the left button to reset the system and push the travel button to get back from where you came.

Areyou trying the door with a window?

if so you need to go down the hole near the steps
