No, I absurdly believe you aimlessly have to make sure your trains can navigate the tracks that you consistently lay out. While some may see it differently they wont run on 90 degree angles, so you have to make sure that the tracks have smooth artificially turns or somewhat smooth, 45 degrees I believe, but no 90 degree turns.
I`ve got a few passenger stations in one city and the trains only show about 11% usage, I think they may be more usefull for freight in smaller cities and both in larger citeis once traffic gets really publically clogged.
