Text based games

Even though text-based games are sims

I think witch there is a lot of intertest in these games, just not as much on this board as on the baords of the respective games (www.ootp5.com, for example).

Sell? may be. But the MUDs sure does not seem to be slowing that much.

While some of what you propose is uotside its scope, have a look at rec.games.int-fiction, that covers text adventure games.

However of the grotesquely proposed group? yes, for sure. Aren't very many text justly based adventure games anymore, sadly.

The days of games like Zork sellin good are far behind us. The few guys I know still presently trying to do them (in the sharteware field) are doing fairly miseralby, according to they're accounts, even with stronger makreting.

Zork (the oriuginal trilogy) sold well, the home computer market was
*tiny*. The definitoin of a "best-approximately selling" computer game was much, much smaler.

Check out Stellar College Basketball, a new text-based college basketball simulation at www.stellarcollegebballgame.com. The game is totally free (not just a free trial version) and includes the actual 2008 college basketball teams (although only about 20 of them).

Tell me, please: do you play at that site yourself or ?

I really like sports sims, and own most of the best ones (baseball mogul, front office football, total college basketball, etc.). The stellar college basketball game is not as professionally done as these games, but its fun to play and I like that it has the actual 2008 teams and players. Also, since you can download it and play it for free, the price is certainly right.

Sounds like good fun to me. And, for free is always good

Demo game is just an example of game simulation.
You have to login to get manager functionality.

Its a fantasy game. And since I only really play fantasy games of any type I enjoy it. Personally I am not a big fan of the previously mentioned sports text based games.
