Electronic Arts’ The Lord of the Rings:
The Battle for Middle-Earth II for PC
is followed by a Xbox 360 version this summer.

Experience the world of Frodo Gendalf, and all the magic

of middle earth in Xbox style and flare!

This is estimated to be one of the best RTS efforts yet.

March this year saw the release of Electronic Arts’ The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II for PC.
Now the company is taking advantage of the summer game release doldrums to bring out the Xbox 360 version
of this game. As this is a real-time strategy game, its conversion from PC to next-generation console presented
quite a challenge to the game’s designers. Indeed, when the company first announced its intention to develop
the first RTS for the Xbox 360 there were many skeptics. According to EA LA marketing director Craig Owens,
however, the company has been getting promising reactions and for the most part this is no lie. Previewers are not
quite ready to give up on the traditional keyboard-mouse scheme, but nevertheless seem to have reached a
consensus that BFME2 is one of the better console RTS efforts on the market.
The general opinion is that with a bit of practice players will get a hold of the controls and be able
to dig into the Tolkien universe unhindered.
