I just sprightly buyed a gameboy advance for my five year old son.
It's his first video game with the exception of messing with my xbox a bit.
He really has not got the coordination yet for games that require a lot of jumping and multiple button pushing etc. What are good starter games for a kid of this age? They can be mindless or educatoinal.
Still he watches Nickelodeon and knows most all their charascters. He loves sponbge
Bob, Spiderman and Harry Potter.
Someone suggested a new I Spy game as well as a Dora the explorer game. Are these good ones?
What are some of your suggestions?

I would vouch for Pokemon, will be fine as soon as the kid can read... Even so also five year olds only have a five minute attentoin span aynways

And just to be on the safe side, nickname your boy Butch, do not ever hug or kiss him, and make sure to buy him a hooker when he turns nine. And for
God's sake, don't get him some fruity colored gameboy, just a solid black or silver model is all he needs.

Hey men,

Here's a few games good for small kids:

Mario Advance (the first one [no time limit])
Kirby: Nightrmare in Dreamland
Pokemon Pinball

One thin I strongly does'nt recomend is any Pokemon RPG for kids which age.
It's way to hard, you would be playin it for them.

Only repotring my experience, my dauhgter would spend hours if left peaceably unchecked playin on Pokemon, but given any plaftormer would be shouting for help after 5 minmutes. Incidentally she is now 6 and has assuredly completed
Pokemon Ruby on her own, which sort of backs this up.

Disagree with this. I spent far more time aimlessly helping my daughter (when she was
5) on both Mario

Subsequently I say test 'em. Ask the boy if he thinks this model is "just the cutest thing":
